1. Working principle and structure of motor operated ball valve


The motor operated ball valve is simple in structure, small in size and light in weight, and consists of only a few parts. In addition, it can be quickly opened and closed by rotating 90°, and the operation is simple. At the same time, the motor operated ball valve has good fluid control characteristics.


When the ball valve is in the fully open position, when the medium flows through the valve body, the thickness of the ball plate is the only resistance, so the pressure drop loss generated by the valve is small, so it has better flow control characteristics. Motor operated ball valves have two types of seals: elastic seals and metal seals. For elastic sealing valve, the sealing ring can be embedded in the valve body or attached to the periphery of the ball plate.


Valves with metal seals generally have a longer service life than valves with elastic seals, but it is difficult to achieve a complete seal. Metal seals can adapt to higher operating temperatures, while elastic seals have the defect of being limited by temperature. If the motor operated ball valve is required to be used as a flow control, the correct size and type of the valve should be chosen.


2. Application environment of motor operated ball valve


The structure principle of the motor operated ball valve is particularly suitable for manufacturing large-diameter valves. Ball valves are not only widely used in various air handling units, variable air volume, dehumidification, fan coil units, rooftop air conditioning units and air preheating coil units, but also in boiler systems and chillers.
