Cause Analysis and Solution of Internal Leakage of Electric Ball Valve

Electric ball valves sometimes have internal leakage. Let's talk about several reasons for internal leakage and their general solutions.

1. The zero position setting of the electric ball valve actuator is inaccurate, and the fully closed position of the valve is not reached.

1. Manually close the valve (it must be confirmed that it has been completely closed);

2. Manually close the valve again with a little force, whichever is the case;

3. Turn the electric ball valve back (in the direction of opening the valve) for half a turn;

4. Then adjust the limit.

Ⅱ. Selection of stroke mode of electric ball valve

The valve is opened and closed by rotating 90°. The torque force of the actuator is not large enough. When there is no pressure, it is easy to reach the fully closed position. When there is a rotating force, it cannot overcome the thrust pushed by the liquid, so the electric ball valve cannot be closed properly.

Solution: replace the actuator with high thrust, or replace it with a balanced valve core to reduce the unbalanced force of the medium.

Ⅲ. Internal leakage caused by the manufacturing quality of the electric ball valve

In the production process, the electric ball valve manufacturer does not strictly control the valve material, processing technology, assembly process, etc., resulting in unqualified sealing surface grinding, and the products with defects such as pitting and trachoma are not completely eliminated, resulting in internal leakage of electric forged steel ball valves.

Solution: Rework the sealing surface.

Ⅳ. The control part of the electric ball valve affects the internal leakage of the valve:

The traditional control method of electric ball valve is through mechanical control methods such as valve limit switch and over-torque switch. Because these control components are affected by ambient temperature, pressure and humidity, the valve positioning of electric ball valve is inaccurate, spring fatigue, thermal expansion coefficient is not correct. Objective factors such as uniformity cause internal leakage of electric forged steel ball valves.

Solution: Readjust the limit.

Ⅴ. The maintenance method of electric ball valve tips

When the electric ball valve body is reassembled, the bolts must be tightened symmetrically, gradually and evenly. The ball valve can be disassembled and disassembled only when the pressure before and after the ball valve is removed. New parts also need to be cleaned before assembly.

During assembly, no metal chips, fibers, grease (except those specified for use), dust, other impurities, foreign objects, etc. should be allowed to contaminate, adhere or stay on the surface of the parts or enter the inner cavity.

After cleaning, it needs to be assembled after the cleaning agent on the wall to be washed has volatilized (it can be wiped with a silk cloth not soaked in the cleaning agent), but the electric ball valve should not be put on hold for a long time, otherwise it will rust and be polluted by dust. Non-metallic parts should be removed from the cleaning agent immediately after cleaning, and should not be soaked for a long time.

The decomposed single parts can be cleaned by dipping, and the metal parts with non-decomposed non-metallic parts can be cleaned with a clean cloth impregnated with cleaning agent (to prevent the fibers from falling off and adhering to the parts) scrub.

When cleaning, all grease, dirt, glue, dust, etc. adhering to the wall of the electric ball valve must be removed. In the process of disassembly and reassembly of the ball valve, it is necessary to protect the sealing parts, especially non-metallic parts, such as O-rings and other parts, it is best to use special tools.
